WHAT IS THE BUR MAINTENANCE PROGRAM?
The nature of our maintenance program is to extend the useful life of a bur without incurring new
tool cost. This program offers an economical replacement to new tool purchasing. We take a tool
that has been dulled by use and make it functional again. We do sell new burs and we do offer a
resharpening program, but where we differentiate ourselves from the cutting tool industry is our
ability to completely repair a broken or severely chipped and otherwise useless bur. With this
service we can repair broken shanks, replace broken heads, maintain the original shape, and regrind
the bur back to like new condition. With our maintenance program every bur has value, and every
bur can be brought back to useful life with a cost savings over new. We don't scrap your burs; we
refurbish new ones.
WHY WILL IT BENEFIT ME?
Is cost savings important? With our maintenance program you are reducing the quantity of new
tools needed to purchase to operate a shop, as well as spending less money on each tool used.
Every time you send in a repair order you are in essence buying new tools at a fraction of new
tool cost. You send us dull, broken, and mangled burs, and we return like new tools at repair
pricing. The tools will look like new and perform like new, but you will pay a fraction of the
cost of new.

HOW IS THE PROGRAM IMPLEMENTED?
We build repair programs to customer needs. If they only want resharp, we'll resharp, though
for maximum value we highly recommend the complete maintenance program. They can decide
what segments of the program that they want and we'll implement them.

Depending on the facility needs we'll recommend a program we feel will be most efficient. Burs
can be shipped in daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or …however the end user deems fit. Due to
turnaround delays on extremely oversized orders some vendors break down their collections
and ship in on a more frequent schedule. Also, some vendors ship in bulk quantities for repair,
but schedule smaller releases to alleviate any congestion problems due to size.

Most of our facilities initiate a return program, whether it's a 1 for 1 exchange program or a
community drop location for collection of used burs. Collection seems to be the only
implementation hurdle to those facilities that are not currently using a repair service.

WHAT CAN BE REPAIRED?
We repair ALL carbide burs no matter the condition, and not just Ruch manufactured burs.
Since we only have one focus, carbide burs, we don't repair other cutting tools. No end mills,
reamers, drill bits, etc…but we can recommend some other good services that we've come
across over the years.

DO I NEED TO BUY NEW BURS FROM RUCH TO UTILIZE THE
MAINTENANCE PROGRAM?
Absolutely not. We do offer a complete new bur product line, standards and specials, but we
do not require our customers to purchase our new line to utilize our savings programs. Our
maintenance program and our new line are two separate entities. In fact we have customers who
integrate our programs into their operations, while keeping their current sources.

HOW QUICKLY DO I GET MY BURS BACK?
We pride ourselves on quick turnaround. On average our repairs are in and out within 48 hours,
but this may vary due to the larger size of some orders and the work involved depending on
how mangled the tools are. A good barometer is freight in + freight out+ 2 days. Expedited
freight terms are available.

HOW DO I GET STARTED?
Send in a handful of burs, or contact a Ruch rep.
REMEMBER THAT BUR YOU'RE THROWING AWAY HAS VALUE. DO YOU
THROW MONEY AWAY? THEN YOU SHOULDN'T THROW AWAY YOUR
BURS.
